The ready-to-eat meat and poultry items were produced from June 19, 2024, to Oct. 8, 2024. These products were distributed to establishments, restaurants and institutions nationwide. The products subject to recall bear establishment numbers "51205 or P-51205" inside or under the USDA mark of inspection. The list of recalled products includes items with a best by date from June 19, 2025 through Oct. 8, 2025. This recall is ongoing, and the list of impacted products continues to expand. Restaurants, institutions and other establishments are urged not to serve or use these products. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
Consumption of food contaminated with L. monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, a serious infection that primarily affects older adults, persons with weakened immune systems, and pregnant women and their newborns. Listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions, sometimes preceded by diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms. Serious and sometimes fatal infections can occur in older adults and persons with weakened immune systems. In pregnant women, the infection can cause miscarriages, stillbirths, premature delivery or life-threatening infection of the newborn.
