Property Tax Bills To Be Mailed in August

Property House Taxes

Union County's Tax Office will mail annual property tax bills in mid-August. Everyone will receive a paper bill in the mail. However, you also can access the bill online.

Property tax courtesy statements are being sent for property owners who escrow their property taxes. Click here for more information.

Fortunately, Union County experienced minimal damage from Tropical Storm Debby. At the storm’s peak on Thursday, approximately 50 roads across the county were flooded or blocked by fallen trees.

Marvin's Day Camp at the Lake

The Village of Marvin is partnering with Union County Parks and Recreation to offer Marvin’s Day Camp at the Lake on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. at Cane Creek Park. This event is intended for third graders through rising high school seniors and will feature beginner-level archery and paddle boarding lessons. This event is free for Marvin residents and $5 for non-residents and includes lunch. Register here.

Hits after Six with Indian Trail

Indian Trail presents Hits After Six on Thursday, Aug. 15, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Chestnut Square Park! Enjoy live music from the Petty Rewind Band, and delicious food and drinks from Sweet Union Brewing, Draper's Funnel Cakes, Hungry Howie's Pizza, and Snoball Cabin.

Support your local farmers’ market and discover the value of buying directly from local farmers. Join us Saturdays (April-Dec.), at 805 Skyway Dr., Monroe, for a selection of fresh produce and handmade goods.

Additionally, our Donation Station has seen incredible success this season, with over 50 pounds of fresh produce donated by generous market-goers. Don't miss the next opportunity to contribute at the Donation Station table, every third Saturday each month (Aug. 17).

RSV Vaccine Available for High-Risk Groups

Abrysvo, a vaccine specifically formulated to protect against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), is now offered through Union County Public Health. Under the updated guidelines, this vaccine is available for pregnant women in their late stages of pregnancy and seniors who meet specific criteria: those 75 or older are eligible for a lifetime dose, and those aged 60-74 with certain chronic medical conditions or residing in long-term care facilities can also receive the vaccine. Join Union County Human Services and Atrium Health on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at Union County Human Services, 2330 Concord Ave., Monroe, for a free colorectal cancer screening. This event is offered for uninsured individuals aged 45 and older, with services provided in both English and Spanish. Learn about lifestyle choices that can help reduce your cancer risk, including quitting tobacco use and exercising regularly.
