Union County Government Career Fair
Festival of Trees
The Town of Marshville is having their second annual Festival of Trees fundraiser starting Nov. 9-13.
You can donate fully decorated artificial trees until Nov. 6 for auctioning off. This will raise funds for the local Police Department's Christmas with Cops event for local youth. The donated trees will be on display and able to be viewed at 111 West Main Street, Marshville.

Veterans Day Ceremonies
You are invited to the City of Monroe’s Warbirds Over Monroe Air Show where Union County’s Director of Veterans Services, Michelle Marcano, will be addressing the crowd on Saturday, Nov. 11, during the event’s opening ceremony at 10:45 a.m. Purple Heart Veteran, Harry Watkins (US Army 101st Airborne, Vietnam, Hamburger Hill) will be the keynote speaker. Commissioners Richard Helms and Brian Helms will be presenting awards and proclamations to selected Union County JROTC Cadets of excellent merit.
The air show will feature several planes from the World War II era at the Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport. The show will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, and Sunday, Nov. 12. Gates open at 9 a.m.

The Town of Waxhaw will be celebrating Veterans Day on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Military Wall of Honor, 109 E. North Main St. This celebration will be held to honor men and women who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Join the Town of Waxhaw between 11 a.m. - noon to be a part of this celebration.

Cane Creek Park Updates
- There will be no fee to enter the park starting Wednesday, Nov. 1 through Feb 28, 2024.
- Rental boats will be closing for the season starting Wednesday, Nov. 1.
- Starting Sunday, Nov. 5, park hours will be changing to 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Looking for an opportunity to give back to the community?
The Union County Christmas Bureau is donor-funded and volunteer-driven. It provides Christmas gifts and food to families who need a helping hand.
The Union County Christmas Bureau is seeking volunteers who have excellent computer skills and can commit to at least four to eight hours each week until Dec. 1. They are in need of bilingual Spanish or Russian speakers.

Christmas in Downtown Marshville
Join the Town of Marshville for their Christmas celebration on Friday, Dec. 1. The celebration will include the lighting of the Town's Christmas Tree, Christmas carols, donuts, coffee, and hot cocoa, hay rides, and Christmas storefront voting!
