Union County Government Fiscal Year 2024 Budget Highlights

The Union County Board of Commissioners recently approved the operating and capital budget for fiscal year 2024. The total general fund budget for July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 is $445,062,935. Click here or on the infographic to view budget highlights.

Well Water Repair Program Application Deadline Extended

Last Day to Apply is Aug. 31, 2023

“With our new pilot program, we can provide financial assistance to those in need, allowing them to repair and treat their private wells,” said Traci Colley, Environmental Health Director.

Well owners who wish to have their well assessed can apply for the new program through Aug. 31, 2023. If selected, grant funds will be used to rehabilitate and/or repair the well. There is no cost to the well owner. 

Public Meeting: Proposed Amendment to Waxhaw Parkway

Residents of Waxhaw, Mineral Springs, and the surrounding areas are invited to attend a public meeting on a possible change to the planned route of the future Waxhaw Parkway.

Join county and municipal staff this Thursday, Aug. 3. 6:30-8 p.m., in the Waxhaw Police Department's Community Room. 

UCPS Hosting Career Fair for Non-Instructional Staff

USPS Career Day

Union County Public Schools (UCPS) is seeking to hire substitute teachers and positions in transportation, facilities, school nutrition and after-school. The district will host a career fair Thursday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Transportation Center, 3319 Goldmine Rd. Monroe, NC 28110. The fair is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet current employees and apply for positions. There will be onsite interviews and application support.
