Qualifying individuals living in certain areas of Union County can apply for financial assistance to help them repair their septic tanks. Certain conditions apply if funding is granted to applicants. Pay Delinquent Property Taxes by Feb. 28, 2023
The Union County Tax Office mailed delinquent tax notices on Monday, Feb. 6. Any delinquent taxes must be paid by Feb. 28, 2023. If delinquent taxes are not paid, they will be advertised as required by law.
There are multiple options to pay delinquent property taxes:

By mail: Mail your check using the return envelope in your tax bill or mail to P.O. Box 38, Monroe, NC 28111

By drop box: Located on Stewart St. Extension behind the Historic Post Office

In person: Pay at the Tax Collector’s office on the first floor of the Union County Government Center Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

NCDOT to Start Construction on Roundabouts
The N.C. Department of Transportation announced this week that construction will begin soon on two roundabouts in Union County. One roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Lawyers and Mill Grove roads, north of Hemby Bridge. The construction schedule and detour information are available on NCDOT's website.
Another roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of N.C. 200 and N.C. 218, east of Fairview. More information about this roundabout is available on NCDOT's website.

The Union County Extension Master Gardener's annual Tree Seedling & Fruit Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon. There will be a variety of native trees & shrubs, apples, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, muscadine grapes, figs, elderberries, strawberries, and more!.
