Special Events Center Opens

Special Events Center Ribbon-Cutting

The Union County Special Events Center is now open in Monroe behind the Agricultural Center on the property of Jesse Helms Park. The new 36,500 square foot facility, with an indoor events center and outdoor arena, will be the site for activities and events hosted by Union County throughout the year.

Local and state leaders gathered for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at the new facility on July 22. Click here to read more.

Movie Night in Monroe

Outdoor Movie

Union County Parks & Recreation and Monroe Parks & Recreation have partnered to show the movie "Raya and the Last Dragon" on Friday, August 20 at Belk Tonawanda Park. Games and Food Trucks will begin at 7:30 p.m. with the movie beginning promptly at sunset. For updates, check out the Facebook Event page.

Hits After Six 

Hip Pocket Band

Join Indian Trail Parks & Recreation in welcoming a performance from "Hip Pocket Band" at Chestnut Square Park on August 19 at 6:00 p.m. For updates and information on other events, visit the Facebook page.

Beach Time Change

Cane Creek Park's beach area will be available on weekends only beginning Saturday, August 14 and through Labor Day.
