Job Description

Teach English to students in middle school and 9th grade, identified as having limited English proficiency and interrupted education, adapting teaching methods to meet student's varying needs and interests. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons. Plan lessons for daily instruction that derive from State standards and assessments. Provide educational experiences in the classroom that reflect the philosophy, goals, and expectations of the ESL Academy program. Conduct instruction effectively and proficiently. Use student-centered instruction to facilitate comprehension. Work effectively with a wide variety of students in a culturally diverse setting. Create a classroom environment that engages and supports all students in learning and is appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Communicate with parents and school counselors on student progress. Support outreach efforts to secure parent involvement in the school community. 

Bachelor's degree from an Accredited University and must hold or be able to qualify for a valid North Carolina Teaching License. Please include all prior experience when applying.
