Congrats!

Reflections from Mr. Alex Quigley, Chair, Charter School Advisory Board (CSAB)

Dear Charter Leaders-

As we close out our May meeting, I'd like to send out my gratitude, on behalf of the entire CSAB and charter communities, for the tireless dedication of Dr. Deanna Townsend-Smith, who we officially said goodbye to at this meeting.

Thankfully, Dr. Townsend-Smith is not going far, as she joins the team serving the State Board of Education, as the Director of Operations and Policy.

Deanna has served our board and the charter community for the last five years as a consultant and Assistant Director of the Office of Charter Schools. She's provided steady leadership during a period of aggressive growth in the charter sector.

We thank her for her service and look forward to working with her in her new role with the SBE.

 Presentations

Dr. Amy Jablonski, Director, Integrated Academic and Behavior Systems, presented on The Every Child Accountability and Tracking System (ECATS) and Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS).

Dr. Jablonski presented the Board with information about how ECATS would work within the PowerSchool framework. More information can be found at the links above.

Mr. Stephen Gay and Dr. Lisa Hervey, from East Wake Academy, gave an overview of the school and how it works to impact student and teacher success.
