Training Heads West for Using Teacher Working Conditions Survey Results
Next stop,
Wilkesboro.
The North Carolina Teacher Working Conditions Survey training
provides a safe and structured environment for principals to examine their
data, learn about resources that accompany results, and share techniques for
using survey data with faculty and staff.
The training begins with the
mantra, Teaching Conditions Matter for Teaching Children. Experts from
the New Teacher Center and the Department of Public Instruction provide small
group facilitation and help to answer specific questions about the data. Seats
still remain open at each of the remaining sites. If you are interested
in registering, please click here for your preferred location and date or use this link: http://bit.ly/2016NCTWCTraining.

DISCOVER SCHOOLNET
We just had our second Schoolnet webinar yesterday and it was truly a Wired Wednesday! Our first was Oct. 12.
If you missed “Wired Wednesday” you can still access these two webinars on the “Webinar” tab of the NC: Home Base Schoolnet Training Plan (bottom of the page). If you are interested in knowing about the next webinar topics, they are listed on this plan too.
Quick Tips
Homepage for Teachers:
Once you have selected an assessment to review from the home page, you will notice each student on your roster appears at the bottom. Click the hyperlinked student's name to go into that student’s profile. Here you will find data on their strengths and weaknesses by objective at the bottom of the “Overview tab.”
Want to print this? Just click the “Create PDF” button in the top right corner and select the sections you want to print. Homepage for Leadership: Once you drill down to your teachers on the home page, you will then be able to see the same information on strengths and weaknesses for individual students listed in the teacher tip this week. You can print, too.
Upcoming Trainings:
Check with your district level Schoolnet lead. They will determine if they have the staff to provide the training or if they need to request a district training. If the lead can host a district training, please have them to contact a DTL Regional Consultant for more details.
Click here to find information from past postings.
Still need help? You may also have your LEA/District Schoolnet Lead contact the Home Base Support Center through the Remedy web portal https://nc-myit.us.onbmc.com or (919) 807-4357.

The second is the deadline for
Dropout Reporting which has been extended to Friday, Nov. 4. Any
questions pertaining to running this report may be address to Dr. Ken Gattis, Kenneth.gattis@dpi.nc.gov.
The third is the School Activity Report
(SAR) deadline which is being extended to Friday, Nov. 18. The new
deadline will be updated in PowerSchool during the next maintenance weekend
beginning Nov. 11, 2016.
Any schools having difficulty meeting
the deadlines for the Retention/Promotion or SAR reports due to the aftermath
of Hurricane Matthew are asked to contact Sandra Johnson at Sandra.Johnson@dpi.nc.gov.
