 Block Gallery and Pullen Arts Center are partnering to present gallery talks by Block Gallery
artists followed by demonstrations at Pullen Arts Center. In conjunction with
the Block Gallery exhibition Constructs,
artist Sarah West will give a gallery tour at the Block Gallery on Thursday,
June 5 from 1-1:45pm and a demonstration of her work process at Pullen Arts
Center on Thursday, June 12 from 1-1:45pm.
Free and open to the public. Due to limited space,

Printmaking – Screen
Print Ages 16 + If you want to make your own T-shirts, this is the class for you. Get your screens,
ink and squeegee ready! We’ll cover applying emulsion, exposing the screen, and

Jewelry – Beginning
Metal Ages 16+ Design and construct earrings, pins, pendants, charms or other small objects
and tokens in this basic metalworking class. Learn to saw, file, hammer, and
solder wire and sheet metals to create individual projects. Purchase silver for
projects (orders taken first class, approx. $30). Optional jewelry kits will be
available for $25, providing solder, sawblades, drill bit, sandpaper and a
small amount of copper to get started. Instructor: Betty McKim, Sarah West (6

Handbuilding Techniques Intro Ages 16 + Expand your possibilities with clay. If you can imagine it, you can build it!
We’ll cover the basics of handbuilding and talk about the entire process of
working with clay, from creating a piece to glazing and firing it. Course
includes an introduction to the slab roller and other handbuilding tools.

Pottery – Intergeneration Clay Ages: 6-11 Parents interested in clay too? Bring your child to the clay studio and work together on a cooperative project. Week one will focus on bowls, week two on figures. Learn a little about clay while you learn a little about your child and the creative process. Projects will be painted in class and picked up at a later date. Class fee includes one parent and one child. Please register child only. (2 sessions).

Art4Fun – Fun with Fibers Studio Ages: 12-17 Spend the week with fiber artist Anna Nickels learning sewing, embroidery and felting techniques.
