Piedmont Laureate

John Claude Bemis

Our heartfelt thanks go to our 2013 Piedmont Laureate for Children’s Literature John Claude Bemis for his creative spirit and dedicated advocacy work in support of children’s literature during his tenure. Through many appearances, readings and musical performances, he spread his message: “Imagination is the engine of childhood. Nothing ignites the imagination like reading books.” We wish him every success in his career as an author and advocate of children’s literature.
