Public Is Invited To Join Officials In Welcoming C-Span to Raleigh
For Its History and Book Tour
All of Raleigh is invited to join Mayor Nancy McFarlane and members of the Raleigh City Council in welcoming C-SPAN to town on Monday, May 13 at noon in the City of Raleigh Museum.
Three C-SPAN SUVs referred to as the Local Content Vehicle (LCV) fleet will be seen all about the Capital City the week of May 13-17 as the film makers attempt to capture some of the history of Raleigh. Along with the city’s history, the crews are in search of Raleigh’s home-grown, non-fiction authors.
The various features that will be captured during mid-May will be shared on C-SPAN’s non-fiction book channel (BookTV on S-SPAN 2) and history channel (American History TV on C-SPAN 3) on “Raleigh Weekend” June 15-16. Additionally, the video segments will be available at www.c-span.org/LocalContent as well as the AHTV and BookTV sites and C-SPAN’s Video Library at www.c-span.org/videolibrary.
C-SPAN identifies the goal of its Cities Tour “to provide our national audience with an inside look into the unique history and literary life of your city.”
