Mulch Sale Begins March 16

The City of Raleigh Yard Waste Recycling Center is offering a buy one, get one free promotion on truckloads of mulch and leaf mulch. Mulching plants protects their roots from temperature fluctuations and conserves moisture in the soil. The Yard Waste Recycling Center is located at 900 N. New Hope Road and is open Monday through Saturday, 7 am to 4 pm. The buy one, get one free promotion will be honored March 16 through April 30 while supplies last. Buyers must present a coupon, which can be downloaded here or clipped from select Saturday editions of The News & Observer. Both purchased and free loads must be picked up in the same day. Celebrate NC Recycling Day March 27

Wednesday, March 27 is the first ever North Carolina Recycles Day at the state legislature. The Southeast Recycling Development Council and the Carolina Recycling Association organized the event to promote the benefits of recycling to manufacturing and other sectors of our state's economy. The day includes a complimentary networking breakfast with state legislators. Participants must register in advance. To sign up, visit www.serdc.org/events before March 21.
