Egg Hunts
Mordecai Egg Hunt April 13th, 2019; 11 am Mordecai Historic Park
Join us at Mordecai Historic Park for a fun-filled morning hunting for eggs! This is a free activity and pre-registration is not required. Call the Mordecai Visitor Center at (919) 996-4364 for information about pre-hunt activities and the inclement weather plan.
Pullen Park Egg Hunt April 13th, 2019; 11am sharp Pullen Park Shelter Area
Join us for one of the annual City of Raleigh Egg Hunt’s hosted by Pullen Park. Do you have what it takes to out bounce the rest of the kids? Can you move your cotton tail quick enough to get the most eggs? Hop on by to join in the fun, but don’t be a hare late. The hunt will start at 11:00am sharp.

Sunday, April 14th, 2019 1 pm, 2 pm, & 3 pm Mordecai Historic Park
Take a trip back into time through Raleigh and the Civil War. Early on a rainy April 13, 1865 morning, Raleigh surrendered to advancing Union armies led by General William Tecumseh Sherman. Join us on the trolley and visit the historic structures still standing and sites which witnessed these dramatic events. The trolley departs from Mordecai Historic Park and lasts approximately one hour. Call 919-996-4364 for tickets and information.

Pullen Park is hosting a FREE fitness series featuring the following local vendors: Ashtanga Yoga School, Camp Gladiator, Fit4Mom, and Master Chang's Martial Arts on a variety of dates in April, May and June. These introductory classes are meant to give guests a glimpse into the offerings of each group while allowing you to get out in the park and exercise. Each class is free and vendors will have more information about their ongoing fitness programs if you would like to learn more.

Mordecai Annual Heirloom Plant Sale
April 27th; 8 am – 2 pm Mordecai Historic Park
Come out to Mordecai Historic Park to get your herb, vegetable, and flower gardens started for the season! Heirloom varieties of plants will be on sale for great prices. Plants will include jasmine, tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and much more. The Mordecai CAC will be hosting yard sales throughout the Mordecai neighborhood and visitors are welcome to shop as well as donate items! In the garden, learn about medicinal uses for plants in the 19th century and explore the park with a scavenger hunt!

Join us as Pullen Park is transformed into the imaginary place Letterland, home to all the letters of the alphabet. This day includes opportunities to meet characters such as Firefighter Fred and his fire engine, Clever Cat by the carousel and Bouncy Ben along with his boats. The Pullen Park train will transform into Talking Tess’ train, and Impy Ink will be face painting at the Golden Girl’s gazebo. There will be other games, activities, photo opportunities, performances and more. Free parking is available at the Coliseum Parking Deck which is located off of Pullen Road and Dunn Avenue, just across the street from the back entrance of Pullen Park.
