CHAPEL HILL, NC - Elizabeth Schrader, Strategy & Policy Manager for New Hanover County, received the Edwin M. Gill Award during the April 11 graduation ceremony for the 2013-2014 County Administration course at the School of Government at UNC-Chapel Hill.
"Beth is a remarkable leader who serves a pivotal role in county government," said county manager Chris Coudriet." Her extensive experience and contributions in this program are paralleled only by her enthusiasm and dedication to public service."
The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners present the award each year to the class member with the most distinguished record. The award is given in honor of Edwin M. Gill, former State Treasurer and chairman of the North Carolina Local Government Commission.
"The Municipal and County Administration Course participants are highly accomplished, talented individuals who are intensely passionate about public service," said Schrader. "I am grateful to have had the opportunity to attend the program, and both humbled and honored to have been selected for this award."
Schrader was one of 93 officials who completed the Municipal & County Administration course this year. More than 2,900 officials have completed the course since it began in 1964.
