(New Hanover County, NC) – The New Hanover County Register of Deeds will be more accessible and much closer to many citizens and attorneys on the Northeast side of the county beginning Monday, April 8.
Register of Deeds, Tammy Beasley, is pleased to announce the opening of the first Register of Deeds satellite office located at the New Hanover County Government Center, 230 Government Center Drive, Suite 180. The office will provide vital record services; administer Notary Public oaths, process military discharges, and offer free notary services. Vital record services include the issuance of certified copies of birth and death certificates and processing marriage licenses. In addition, two public search computers will be available for use by the public, attorneys, and paralegals.
“This is what it’s all about.” said Beasley, “This is why I wanted to run and do as much as possible to make our services easier for the citizens, as, many people are unable to make that trip downtown." This is one of many improvements Beasley has implemented in the first four months of taking office and hopes to continue working with county management towards making positive and effective changes to ensure that New Hanover County citizens receive the best service possible.
The satellite office will be open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information and fee schedules visit the Register of Deeds online at www.nhcgov.com.
