Announces New Safety & Security Director
Fayetteville, N.C. – Following the recommendation of Cumberland County Schools Superintendent Dr. Marvin Connelly, Jr., the Cumberland County Board of Education approved a new director during Tuesday evening's Board meeting.
Phillip Young, who recently retired from Fayetteville Police Department, will be the new director of Safety & Security. He has over 28 years of experience in law enforcement. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from The University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 1993. Young also has experience in crisis intervention training, incident command systems, preparing and carrying out operational plans, community engagement, project planning and more.
