HEALTH DEPARTMENT WIC CLINIC MOVING TO NEW LOCATION

Charlotte, NC – The Mecklenburg County Health Department’s WIC (Women, Infants and Children) clinic is moving to a brand new location in east Charlotte.

WIC will move from its old location on Central Avenue to a new facility at 5624 Executive Center Drive. The new clinic is just off Albemarle Road near the Social Security Office.

The new location will be open for clients beginning on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.

Hours for this WIC location are 7:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. The number to call to make an appointment is 704-336-6500.

Food, nutrition counseling, and access to health services are provided to low-income women, infants, and children under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, popularly known as WIC.

WIC provides Federal grants to States for supplemental foods, health care referrals, and nutrition education for low-income pregnant, breastfeeding, and non-breastfeeding postpartum women, and to infants and children who are found to be at nutritional risk.
