Special Edition of C-Mail: Understand Your New Water Bill

Beginning July 1, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities customers will see changes to their bill reflecting a new rate structure and a proposed water and sewer rate increase. It's important to understand the reasons behind these changes, and that is why we have prepared a Customer's Guide to Understanding Rates and Your Bill.

This guide explains new availability fees, proposed water rate tiers, and a reduction in the sewer cap. These changes have been made to help provide revenue stability for the Utility and allow for the continued maintenance of a system that protects public health, provides high-quality drinking water, ensures fire protection and supports the economic vitality of Mecklenburg County.
