So how's Charlotte's tap water? We get that question a lot. We conduct more than 150,000 water quality tests annually to monitor the safety of our community’s drinking water.
The combination of high quality water sources and highly trained water treatment and lab professionals yields a great product. Our three treatment plants are designed and operated to clean water to a level of safety far exceeding that required by the EPA. At the level of treatment we provide, Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s drinking water is 10 times less likely to have contamination compared with federal standards. County residents will receive the 2010 Water Quality Report in June. You’ll see that your water again meets and exceeds federal drinking water standards. So raise a glass, and check it out.
