Lane Closure: NORTH SHARON AMITY ROAD

Below is an upcoming closure:

  

NORTH SHARON AMITY ROAD
The northbound right lane on North Sharon Amity Road between Hickory Grove Road and Shamrock Drive will close at 9:00 a.m. on 4/26/2011. Expect heavy traffic and delays on northbound (outbound) North Sharon Amity Road.  East WT Harris Boulevard and Eastway Drive are possible alternate routes. Local access to homes and businesses will be maintained. CATS buses WILL be affected. Reopens at 6:00 a.m. on 5/9/2011. Closed for construction of a sewer main extension. Questions? Weather and unforeseen circumstances occasionally prevent work from being completed as scheduled, and make it unsafe to reopen lanes or streets when planned.  When this occurs, City traffic engineers work directly with other City staff and contractors to resolve the situation as quickly as possible and reduce impacts to the traveling public. 

Motorists traveling through work zone areas should be alert and extra cautious.  Drivers should get in the correct lane well in advance and constantly be on the lookout for vehicles merging into adjacent travel lanes as they approach a work zone.  Drivers should double their following distance
