Welcome to this inaugural newsletter of the Mecklenburg BOCC. I initiated the effort to publish this newsletter because it occurred to me that the public generally is not aware of the numerous community activities in which commissioners are involved on a regular basis.
Reaching out to District two and Mecklenburg County. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the success of the Mecklenburg County Board newsletter and thankful to the members of District Two; and specifically the faith community, for their support and their efforts to contribute to the growth of this community.
Jail conference, honoring seniors, and more! Last month, I was invited to make a presentation at the American Jail Association’s National Conference in Austin, Texas on behalf of the National Association of Counties (NACo).
What is a ‘Bond Fund’ and Why do we need one? When I was first elected to office, I was fresh off a stint as a member of County’s Capital Budget Advisory Committee. As a CPA, I had a keen interest in the financial condition of Mecklenburg County.
