NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY
LYNX Blue Line Extension Final Environmental Impact Statement
Ready For Public Review

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) are pleased to announce that the Final Environmental Impact Statement (Final EIS) for the proposed LYNX Blue Line Extension (BLE) Northeast Corridor Light Rail Project is available for public review. The proposed project is a 9.4 mile extension of the existing light rail line from Center City Charlotte to UNC Charlotte, with 11 proposed stations. The Final EIS addresses the potential transportation and environmental impacts, responds to comments on the Draft EIS and describes the planned mitigation measures.

The Final EIS is available electronically at www.ridetransit.org.
Hard copies of the Final EIS are available for public review at CATS office, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center (9th floor) and in the following libraries: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Library – Main Branch, Sugar Creek Branch, and University City Regional Branch; UNC Charlotte – J. Murrey Atkins Library and the State Library of North Carolina in Raleigh, NC. The public review period for the Final EIS will run through Thursday, October 27, 2011.
