Exciting News Coming for Montana DRIVE Registration!
Montana DRIVE is moving to a new platform for a smoother self-registration process. We will be using EventCreate to provide users a more efficient registration process. Registrars and attendees will be able to visit our new site beginning in January, 2026. When registration opens, you can choose dates, enter information, and pay online. All major credit cards are accepted. Participant name, email, and billing contact information will be required upon registration. Information will still be available on our regular website, but all registration will be done through the new platform.
MT DRIVE refund policy has been updated as follows:
- Full refund if initiated through the EventCreate Portal by May 15th, 2026.
- No refunds will be issued after May 15th, 2026. Refunds MUST be initiated through the EventCreate ticket portal.
- Substitutes may be granted if given at least 24 hours advance notice.
- No contact/No show will result in no refund, no credit, and no rescheduling.
Registration for Adult One-Day Workshops will open February 2nd, 2026. Teen Week One-Day Workshops will open March 2nd, 2026. All registration openings will begin at 8:00 AM Mountain Standard Time.

Traffic Educator Hot Tip!
ADED Pre-Conference Workshop
The Montana Traffic Education Conference is co-hosted by the Montana Traffic Education Association (MTEA) and the Office of Public Instruction (OPI). The 2026 conference is being held at the Great Falls Hotel and Convention Center on April 26, 27, and 28.
On April 25th, 2026, the OPI is pleased to announce the offering of "Driver Rehabilitation and the New Driver" presented by ADED - The Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists. This seven hour in-person workshop will be available as a pre-conference offering with a one-hour Q&A session to wrap up on the 26th. The cost to participants is $125. Traffic education reimbursement funds may be used for this educational opportunity. This workshop is designed for driver educators seeking to expand their knowledge and skills in service to novice drivers with disabilities.
Learning objectives for this workshop include:
- Understand best practices related to novice drivers with disabilities.
- Analyze the roles and responsibilities for working with novice drivers with disabilities for driver education and training.
- Discuss the Spectrum of Driver Services and the team approach to providing driver rehabilitation services.
- Implement the use of tools and checklists to help determine driver readiness for on-road training.
- Identify perceptual, physical and cognitive challenges associated with common acquired and congenital disabilities and will appreciate how these challenges can affect driving performance.
- Review guidelines for client referrals for a healthcare assessment.
- Review the strategies for intervention, such as re-evaluation, driver cessation, potential plan of care for training, and how to determine if training is not appropriate.
- Develop procedures for driver education and training for novice drivers with disabilities.
- Understand ADED’s Best Practice Guidelines for the Delivery of Driver Rehabilitation Services for working with special populations.
- Review best practices for documentation and communication with the client and other professionals.
- Review case studies that demonstrate skills and procedures taught.
More information on this pre-conference offering will be available in the coming months. The workshop is limited to 30 participants. Registration and payment are required to hold a spot. Participants will be responsible for their own lunch during the break. Registration for this workshop will be available when conference registration opens.

MSU-Northern 2026 Course Update
MSU-Northern is headed to Miles City and will be offering TED 462/562 Methods of Behind-the-Wheel Instruction at Miles Community College! Click HERE for the initial 8-credit course schedule. Please note that the Methods of Behind-the-Wheel Instruction course will not be scheduled in Havre. Advance registration for Summer begins March 27, 2026. Students planning to register for the initial 8 credits can APPLY FOR ADMISSION now. A schedule with all traffic education courses will be available after the new year.
