All FY26 Transformational Learning and MT Advanced Opportunities Awardees will be Funded Prior to October 1, 2025.
Upcoming Grant Webinar Schedule
The next scheduled webinar is Thursday, September 25th at 10am. The focus of this webinar is to support newly applying districts in the application process for the MT Advanced Opportunities grant. House Bill 252 removed limitations on funding for applying districts; therefore, all districts that successfully apply and are qualified for funding will receive advanced opportunities funds to support student learning and educational experiences.
Transformational Learning Phase II Application Window Now Open
Districts that are currently or have previously received Transformational Learning funding are encouraged to apply for FY27 funds. Applicants will need to show clear evidence of progress in proficiency-based learning, as defined in MCA 20-7-1601. Districts must also describe their plans to continue moving toward district-wide implementation, along with cost estimates to support their work.
The signing of House Bill 573 during the 2025 legislative session launched Phase II of the Transformational Learning grant, effective in FY27. This phase has two primary goals:
- To deepen the work of our most innovative grantees by supporting them as they move toward district-wide implementation of transformational and proficiency-based learning.
- To use what we learn from these Phase II districts to provide recommendations and guidance for other schools and districts that are interested in moving in the same direction.
Districts that anticipated funding in FY27 as part of the previous Transformational Learning grant will no longer be funded in FY27, unless selected as one of the 5 districts awarded for Phase II.
