OPI GT Grant: Our current grant cycle comes to a close this school year. Watch for information on how to apply for the next two-year round of GT grants. Applicants are required to match funds so this can double your GT money.
Title II A Funds: These can be used to help train teachers, administrators, and staff such as psychologists to recognize gifted students in schools and support their unique needs.
Title IV A Funds: These can be used under the Well-Rounded Education category to help supplement gifted education. They can be used for teacher training, curriculum augmentation, and even identification of advanced learners.
Coordinator's Corner
Are you a small or rural school with GT challenges unique to your size and location? The book Serving Gifted Students in Rural Settings by Tamra Stambaugh and Susannah M. Wood has some insights for you. (The book costs anywhere from $36-$45, depending on where you make your online purchase.) Perhaps you could form a book study group with schools from your co-op or surrounding small districts to discuss what you are reading and share ideas.

And remember, OPI is here to help you. If you are (or know of) a new coordinator, GT program lead, or GT teacher in your building or district (within the past 5 years), please email Jenny Jarvis, OPI GT Program Support Specialist, with your contact information. OPI can provide GT program support, professional development, and technical assistance for you, teachers at your school, your administration, and your school board.

While we update and expand our specific GT Learning Hub content, we invite you to explore other classes that are relevant to advanced and precocious learners. Check out the course on Growth Mindset. This will give you some tools to help GT students through the perfectionism that is often a part of their personalities.
