Federal E-Grants Tour
The OPI Federal Programs Unit will be conducting the E-Grants tour for interested district administrators and title coordinators from July 25th through August 9th. Here are the regional locations and dates:

Welcome Justine Guthrie!
Justine Guthrie recently joined the OPI Federal Programs team as the Title I Family Engagement and McKinney Vento Homeless Coordinator. She has spent over 15 years in public education as a Teacher, Behavior Specialist, and School Principal in all grade levels K-12. She holds a BA from the University of Montana in History- Political Science and Secondary Education, a Master’s of Education in Alternative Education, and a Graduate Certificate in School Principals. In her career, she has been drawn to positions of support and has enjoyed working with at-risk youth. She enjoys supporting school staff to provide quality and engaging learning for all students. At OPI she is excited to serve Montana Schools!

General Program Updates
E-Grants:
- All districts must include a “Homeless Education” set aside in the ESEA Consolidated Grant Application of a minimum of $35 even if no students have been identified.
- Homeless Liaison annual training hours from the 2023-24 school year will be uploaded into eGrants on the contact information page.

Title III:
- Home Language Surveys must be included with enrollment packets, especially for those enrolling from out-of-state
- WIDA Screener must be given to potential ELs/MLs within 30 days of school
- All Title III Program reports will be due by September 30, 2024
- WIDA Annual Conference October 15th-18th
