Montana Traffic Education Conference 2024
Plan to attend the annual Montana Traffic Education Conference, hosted by the Montana Traffic Education Association and the Office of Public Instruction. The conference begins on Sunday, April 28, 2024, and concludes on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The conference will take place at the Great Falls Heritage Inn. The theme for this year's conference is "Directions, Directions: How Do We Get from Here to There?" Attendees must pre-register by April 15, 2024. All traffic education instructors will receive MTEA's spring newsletter with a registration form. Instructors can attend this conference, educators can earn 15 renewable units or one college credit through MSUN by paying a fee. Visit http://mteaonline.org for details.

PRE-REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE STARTING IN MARCH 2024: All attendees must pre-register with MTEA. The registration fee is $215 and includes five meals. Walk-in registrations will not be allowed. Cancellation policy: Upon written notice of cancellation, $135 of the $215 registration fee is refundable. The registration form will be available in March.

COLLEGE CREDIT OR RENEWAL UNITS: Register for one-semester credit through MSU-N at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 28. The cost is $150. MTEA/OPI will make available, at no additional cost, up to 15 renewal units which can be used with your Montana educator license renewal. You may register for college credit OR renewal units, but NOT BOTH.

Montana DRIVE
Registration for the adult one-day workshops opened on February 1, 2024. Workshops begin June 4, 2024, and run through August 9, 2024. Teachers, school bus drivers, first responders, firefighters, and drivers of all kinds are invited to register for a one-day summer workshop.

Attending Montana DRIVE offers Montana's educators two options for professional development and only one can be chosen each year. If an educator would like to earn one college credit they must attend the workshop, stay an extra day to instruct, and pay a fee to MSUN. The second option for professional development Montana DRIVE offered to educators is they can earn nine renewal units by attending a one-day workshop. School bus drivers can earn nine training hours by attending a workshop as well. Adult workshops are $375. Montana DRIVE Teen Week is July 18-20, 2024 and registration begins March 1, 2024. After the State Farm Grant is applied, Teen Week registration costs $200 out of pocket. To register and for more information, visit the website at http://montanadrive.mt.gov.

MVD/CDTP Update
Many questions have arisen from the MVD's new online application process. Read below and download the attached file for more information.
Online applications continue to be recommended but not required.
Paper Class D Applications are still required to be completed in driver education and submitted with CDTP test results and student lists.

TEDRS
Important Dates & Reminders

TE01 District Applications are due at the beginning of the semester, at least one week before classes start.
TE03-4 Final Student lists are due at the MVD within 3 days of completing your course.
Complete your Reimbursement Request when you certify your Course Completion. This will ensure your Student Count List is accurate and your district will be reimbursed for all eligible students.
TE06 End of Year Reports may be completed any time after your courses are completed for the year. Any course completed by June 30th, 2024 will be eligible for reimbursement in August 2024 as long as the TE06 is completed and submitted by July 10th, 2024.
