Jenny Jarvis is the new Gifted and Talented and MTSS Program Support Specialist at OPI. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a Master’s degree in Education with an English emphasis. Jenny is excited to share her passion for supporting gifted learners and their teachers through her new position at OPI. She has taught every grade except 1st grade at some point in her career. Blessed with 10 children (most of whom were born in Montana’s Flathead Valley) and a wonderful son-in-law, Jenny and her husband have lived and worked in many states but are happy to call Montana home again.

Keynote Speaker: Tamra Stambaugh
Tamra Stambaugh, Ph.D. is the Margo Long Endowed Chair in Gifted Education at Whitworth University. Stambaugh’s research interests include students living in rural settings, students of poverty, and curriculum and instructional interventions that promote gifted student learning. She is the co-author/editor of several books, book chapters, articles, and curriculum units including Comprehensive Curriculum for Gifted Learners; Overlooked Gems: A National Perspective on Low-Income Promising Students, the Jacob’s Ladder Reading Comprehension and Affective Series, Serving Gifted Students in Rural Settings (Legacy Award Winner), the GCQ special issue on low income, and The Vanderbilt Programs for Talented Youth Curriculum. Stambaugh frequently provides keynotes, workshops, and consultation to school districts nationally and internationally. She has held appointments on multiple NAGC committees over the past 15 years and has presented at the NAGC Annual Convention.

The AIM Department will collect data again in the spring for program participation for Gifted and Talented students. You should make it a practice to update information in a student's record as they are evaluated and potentially identified. Once these fields are marked for a student, they will remain a part of their record moving forward.
Districts have the option to enter the data manually in the student’s 2023-24 enrollment record or upload the data using the Program Participation File Template linked below.
Edufest is the Northwest’s Premiere Summer Conference for Advanced Learners
Edufest 2024 will take place on the campus of Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, and virtually from July 22nd to the 25th of 2024!
