Statewide SPED Directors Meetings
A recurring and Monthly Statewide SPED Directors meeting will be scheduled on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 8:30-9:30 via Zoom. These interactive meetings are geared toward disseminating information from the State Education Agency (SEA) to Local Education Agency (LEAs) in addition to providing networking opportunities for those in the field with potential service providers.

Special Education Community of Practice
These meetings are one-hour sessions held the second Wednesday of the Month from 3:30-4:30. There will be a 10–20-minute presentation on a topic followed by a discussion around that topic. The purpose of these meetings is to provide technical assistance and support for Special Education teachers as well as help build a network for teachers throughout Montana.

Do you like hands-on workshops? Then this one's for you!! This course will include activities and games that support math learning in the Montana Math Content Standards (K-5). Time will be spent learning about warm-ups for ongoing cumulative review, instructional tools, and ideas of how to extend learning for students who finish early. Come play lots of games while at the same time learning how to make math meaningful and fun. Participants will create many hands-on activities and games to use in their classrooms!

Presenter: Stacy York Nation
Participants will explore the brain science behind development, how trauma and toxic stress can impact that development, and learn strategies for helping students navigate these impacts. Participants will leave with a better understanding of emotional regulation and the classroom strategies that work to assist students in navigating their stress response systems. These strategies support all students.

Developing Children's Number Sense
Understanding the developmental progression of number sense will enable teachers to best introduce, reinforce, and build their students’ “mathematics foundation”. This session will focus on developing a strong understanding of the key predictive indicators for school readiness in mathematics and numeracy (subitizing, counting, one-to-one correspondence, cardinality, and hierarchical inclusion) along with instructional strategies to support the development of those concepts.
