Description: Are you struggling to meet the individual needs of your students? Did you know there is a validated process to develop and implement specially designed instruction (SDI) or intensive interventions? This session models how to use data-based individualization (DBI) to support students with intensive needs and develop SDI for students with disabilities while leveraging the data, instruction, and infrastructure of your MTSS system.

Effective Classroom Practices (4 units) Explore and implement the Great 8 from the national Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) technical assistance center.
High Leverage Practices (HLPs) Spotlight (2 units) In this course, learners will explore five HLPs - practices that are fundamental to effective teaching and support students' academic, social, and emotional growth. They are applicable across grade levels, content areas, and contexts.
MTSS Overview (1 unit) This course offers a basic introduction to a multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) that enables schools to provide support for all students in general education. There is also basic information to help support Local Education Agencies (LEAs) who are considering implementing MTSS.
MTSS Tier 2 (3 units) This course gives participants the knowledge necessary to understand and implement the second tier of strategies in the multi-tiered systems of support. It is recommended that participants are currently working in a school.

The OPI CETA Unit is currently hiring a Program Support Specialist to provide statewide guidance for Gifted and Talented Programs, as well as support to our MTSS State Personnel Development Grant. This position also plays a critical role in planning in-person professional development events such as the OPI Summer Institute and High School Forum and helps design high-quality self-paced courses on the Teacher Learning Hub.
