Regional Career Coaches Hit the Ground Running
Nine Regional Career Coaches have been hired under Montana Ready to serve K-12 and post-secondary education institutions, other public agencies, the military, and private sector stakeholders.
Some of the key areas of focus are:
- Increasing Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit with post-secondary education institutions
- Increasing Industry Recognized Credentials
- More involvement in the CTSOs
- Assisting the connection of Adult Education students with post-secondary education institutions, public and private sector partners
- Educating more school districts on how to apply for Advanced Opportunity funding
- Working with the CTE Specialists to educate school districts of the difference between Work Release and Work Based Learning
- Providing more connections and strengthened connections with the military and private industry for career pathway development opportunities for all students
Montana Ready and Regional Career Coaches are also able to strengthen the partnership with the Department of Labor and Industry in four key areas:
- Job Service resources
- Career Lab resources
- Pre-apprenticeship and Apprenticeship
- Business Engagement Specialist team
Finally, the Regional Career Coaches have been actively involved in the Montana Post-Secondary Education Opportunities Council (MPSEOC) by attending MPSEOC career fairs. Career Coaches have also joined the Montana Contractors Association for the Pop-Up Days events in Billings, the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce for the upcoming WOW event, Manufacturing Days, TekNoXpo at MSU-Northern, and many other events connecting K-12 students, teachers, parents, and counselors to many opportunities in career pathways.
