In the spring, 50 schools were allocated funds from the Gifted and Talented State Grant. To date, 47 school plans and applications have been approved. The following schools are being highlighted for their use of best practices for gifted education.

Polson School District
Polson uses a variety of screeners and assessment measures to identify their high-ability students. They provide several options for services and programs to support students to reach their highest potential. Teacher and Gifted Specialist, Tamara Alley coordinates the program at Polson. Tamara is a Teacher of the Year Finalist and a member of the Edufest management team.

Great Falls Public Schools
Great Falls is using a PODLET model in schools where fewer students are identified as Gifted. This is a great example of schools working towards equitable programming.

The Gifted and Talented State Grant program provides grant funds for supplemental financial assistance to school districts to strengthen the quality of programs for gifted and talented students. Schools and families can learn more on our Gifted, Talented, and Advanced Placement OPI Webpage.
Did you know the Montana Digital Academy offers a variety of High School AP® course titles, in all content areas, to give Montana students the chance to tackle college-level work while they are still in high school? Whether you are in Sidney, Superior, or any town in between, MTDA is here to help you reach your educational goals.
High School AP® courses are college-level courses offered in high school. Courses are equivalent to what is taught in introductory college courses. Students who earn a qualifying score on the College Board AP® Exam are eligible to receive college credit and/or earn placement into advanced courses in college.

MTDA DUAL CREDIT
Montana Digital Academy offers a variety of High School Dual Credit courses through partnerships with Helena, Missoula, and Gallatin College. This means you can earn college and high school credits through the same course.
All MTDA Dual Credit courses qualify for the state's One-Two-Free program. One-Two-Free offers two tuition-free dual enrollment courses, up to six credits.
