Professional Development Opportunities
Professional Development is one of the critical efforts of the OPI IEFA staff. That is why we just completed an in person Best Practices Conference and are also offering a virtual BP Conference on Saturday, April 22nd. The virtual conference will offer an IEFA implementation track as well as a language and culture track. Look for registration info. on the Upcoming Events/PD page of our website. This page also hosts previously recorded webinars and virtual conferences which can be accessed and viewed to gain background IEFA information and knowledge. Teachers can earn renewal units after viewing and completing a short survey.
The OPI IEFA team is also always willing to travel to your school to provide PD or do a special event upon request. You can contact the IEFA department at 406-444-3694 or complete the online form on the Upcoming Events/PD page.
IEFA Grant Opportunities In 2023-24 School Year
While all of the IEFA grant funding has been obligated for this year, it's not too early to start thinking about next year. OPI IEFA will be emphasizing student exchanges again next year and will also be putting together a cultural exchange guide resource for potential grantees. If you are interested in pursuing a grant opportunity next year, reach out to Jennifer Stadum at jstadum@mt.gov or 406-444-0725
The OPI is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to people with disabilities. If you need a reasonable accommodation, require an alternate format, or have questions concerning accessibility, contact the OPI ADA Coordinator, 406-444-3161, opiada@mt.gov, Relay Service: 711.
