Legislative Update
Both the Transformational Learning and MT Advanced Opportunity bills are being revised and evaluated during the current Legislative session. House Bill 089 (Transformational Learning) revisions are now identified as Senate Bill 8. The major adjustment in this proposed bill eliminates the district's definition of proficiency that does not require seat time and replaces it with a pre-determined "Proficiency-based Learning" definition. House Bill 387 (MT Advanced Opportunities) has edits under House Bill 257 which will increase percentages of funding for K-8, K-12, and high school classifications and changes the current 60/40 family out-of-pocket cost/CTE split to 75% and 25%.
