All I Want on the Teacher Learning Hub is You!
We are committed to making TLH the best place for your professional learning journey in 2023! Help us better serve your professional development needs by letting us know what you want to have offered on the Hub! Please complete this interest survey so that we can better serve you in the new year!
Let It Snow, Let Us Know, Let Us Grow!
Big changes are on the way for the Teacher Learning Hub and we want you to know, so you can grow with us! Please be sure to check out our Teacher Learning Hub Homepage on a regular basis for the latest developments so you are aware of what’s happening now and throughout the coming year since these changes may affect you and your professional development.
For starters, Renewal units (RUs) are now termed Professional Development units (PDUs). You will notice that change in the following news sections. (It may take us a bit to update the language within the Hub courses, but just know that it is still the same thing, just a new name!) And that’s just a small change…
The BIG news is that the Hub is now linked with TeachMT Licensure!! Please note the IMPORTANT INFORMATION regarding this integration below:
-
If you are a licensed educator, your SEID# will now appear on your Hub account and you will notice when you log in to the Hub that there will be pop-ups explaining this exciting integration and providing you with instructional steps to verify your preloaded SEID#. If you are NOT a licensed educator, you will be verifying your pre-loaded account email through the same procedure in the same location. (If you have already verified your information, congrats, no need to proceed to the next three bullets!)
-
We have been working hard to make this change happen and make sure your part is EASY! In addition to the Hub site pop-ups, we have prepared a variety of informational instructions to accommodate an easy understanding of what you need to do. Be on the lookout for emails with specific written instructions as well as a link to visual instructions, and a video demonstration. In addition, The Hub Homepage will host all of the same links and instructions needed to check and verify your SEID# or email. It is essential that you check to see if your SEID# (located on your state of Montana teaching certificate) matches what we have loaded for you. OR if you are not a licensed educator, you will be checking to see if we have your account email correct in that same textbox to which you will be easily directed. If correct, just save as instructed and you’re done! If there is an error, please make the needed correction and save as instructed.
-
Every time you complete a course on the Hub, the number of PDUs, the course title, and the Hub as the provider, will be auto-generated to your licensure account in TeachMT! (YAY!) This can only be done with a verified and correct SEID# and will save you time at renewal time! It would still be good practice to also download and save your certificate directly upon completion of a course on the Hub. We also recommend printing a hard copy for your personal file. Technology is wonderful but it isn’t always foolproof. For those users without a license, there is no need for this information to go to licensure unless you become licensed and acquire an SEID#.
-
Troubleshooting: If after following the instructions, you find that your SEID# or email is missing from the textbox, it may be due to you having duplicate accounts. Instead of clicking ‘Update Profile’ you will click ‘Cancel’ and notify the Hub at OPILearningHub@mt.gov. If you make a correction and for some reason get an ‘Error’ message after clicking ‘Update Profile’ reach out to us via email or Help ticket. We expect the process to go smoothly, but want you to be informed!
No Silent Nights Here — Busy Rolling Out PD!
There are no facilitated courses that are being run in December but you can certainly enroll in the upcoming January offerings beginning 12/18/22! Ring in the New Year with some great Professional Development!
Interested in looking ahead to February’s Facilitated Courses? Enrollment opens on 01/15/23!
We Wish You a Merry PD Experience!
This time of year is a busy time for everyone! If you are still needing to squeeze in some PD amidst the busyness, look to these self-paced courses with a little less structure than a facilitated course. Take a hot chocolate break and cozy up to your computer with some of these great offerings!
Helpful Hub Tip of the Month: We have always recommended that you use a personal email for your Hub account registration. By doing so, your course completion badges are always with you and if you have them on a school computer with a school email that information may be lost should you move elsewhere. In the very near future, all Hub accounts are going to be merged and you will only be able to have one account and it will need to be under your personal email.
