Special Education Child Count
The SFY2023 Special Education Child Count is now open. The official count day is October 3, 2022. This is the count of students ages 3-21, who, as of October 3, 2022, were receiving special education and related services in your district. In order to be counted for Child Count, a student must have a current enrollment, a locked Evaluation Report showing an eligible disability, a locked IEP that is active over the Child Count date, and a special education setting of service on the State Reported Data Tab in AIM. The final data is due to be submitted by November 4, 2022. Questions about Child Count should be directed to Anne Rainey at arainey@mt.gov.
Special Education Private School Count
The SFY2023 Special Education Private School Count is also happening now. This is a count of students who are enrolled in a private or home school within your district boundaries and are IDEA eligible – whether they are receiving services or not. The information is submitted on a form that was sent to Special Education Directors the week of September 26, 2022. It is due to be returned to the office no later than November 4, 2022. Questions about the Private School Count should be directed to Anne Rainey at arainey@mt.gov or Danni McCarthy at dmccarthy@mt.gov.
Special Education Preliminary MOE Reports
The Special Education Preliminary MOE reports will be run the week of October 10th. Districts or Coops who do not maintain effort will be contacted directly.
