Preparing for the School Year
-
The Tribal Relations and Resiliency unit is gearing up for another school year. In August School Mental Health Support Services will be working with Lodge Grass school district to train staff in Restorative Practices and Circles. Our youth's mental health and wellness continues to inform the work the TRR unit to build resilience based on the whole child approach. This is particularly exemplified in the work of the Elder's Cultural Wisdom Council or ECWC.
-
The Elder's Cultural Wisdom Council will meet in August to begin discussions to establish policies and procedures and solidify their mission to lend their collective wisdom to the education of our youth.
We will also begin consultation efforts with Tribes. Organizing a gathering with all the stakeholders will be the focus as we recognize and bring the good work they all are doing to the forefront for the students in the communities.
- Our Vista, Anna Marsicano, will be closing out her work with our program August 15th. She has been absolutely amazing in facilitating our youth leadership group, RISE. We are excited to see her new journey forward. She will be successful in any path she chooses. Thank you Anna!
