This lesson plan developed by PBS for grades 6-12 helps students to “draw connections between the moment in history, the poet’s messages and students’ own lives” as they read Amanda Gorman’s poem, “The Hill We Climb.” This poem was most recently read as part of President Biden's inaugural address.
Medical Detectives is a new pilot program for middle school-high school students and teachers to participate in. Teachers in Montana can check out biotechnology equipment to use in their classrooms to teach a variety of biotechnology skills and topics. Teachers would be responsible for purchasing or using their own kits or learning activities to go along with the equipment and part of the shipping costs associated with shipping the equipment. Teachers will also have the option to have UM research faculty do a video conferencing session with their students in conjunction with the lab or learning activity conducted in the classroom. For questions contact Lily Apedaile at lily.apedaile@mso.umt.edu or 406-243-7946.
