September 25th is American Indian Heritage Day per MCA 1-1-228. Montanans are encouraged to “reflect on American Indian culture and heritage and celebrate American Indians and their culture and heritage in all lawful ways.” The Indian Education for All team has compiled remote learning resources you may choose to integrate into your online or hybrid curriculum. The Office of Public Instruction Indian Education for All Unit would like to invite educators and administrators to join us for a free series of live webinars on Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30 p.m. facilitated by Indian Education for All instructional coaches. The webinars will explore the Essential Understandings Regarding Montana Indians. Participants will:
- gain familiarity with each of the Essential Understandings;
- explore practical classroom integration of IEFA;
- engage in meaningful live discussions;
- build community and share resources; and
- earn renewal units (two per session, or twelve for all six sessions).
