MSDI News: GIS Web Services Changes |

The Montana State Library is making important changes to its GIS Web Services offerings.
We will retire our ESRI Cloud Managed Services (EMCS) environment after July 31, 2026: https://gisservicemt.gov/arcgis/rest/services. A new cloud-hosted environment is now available through ROK Technologies: https://gisservice.mt.gov/arcgis/rest/.
These changes trigger our 30-day notification policy.
These changes will impact user's workflows, applications, and map products. This includes GIS web applications, locally hosted ArcGIS Pro/Desktop map projects, and ArcGIS Online items such as web maps, layers, story maps, geocoding services, and more.
As part of this transition, the new cloud-hosted web services environment is now available.
Because of the scope of these changes, immediate action is required. Montana State Library GIS staff encourage users to review their applications and workflows as soon as possible.
After July 31, 2026, deprecated EMCS-hosted services will be retired and no longer accessible.
