System Maintenance - Wednesday, February 25 at 10 pm
SirsiDynix will be performing system maintenance that will affect Enterprise, BCMobile, and BLUEcloud Analytics (BCA) on February 25 at 10:00 pm for approximately 2 hours.
Enterprise will remain available, but some 'My Account' functions and hold placing functionality will be unavailable until the maintenance is completed. MSC Admins will post a notice on Enterprise informing patrons about this maintenance.
New Item Category 1 Option
MSC admins have created the new Item Category 1 option of AUDIO-REC for pre-loaded audio devices like Yoto cards, Tonie figures, and Playaways. This new item category will replace the PLAYAWAY option. All existing items with an Item Category 1 of PLAYAWAY will be batch changed to AUDIO-REC and Item Category 1 drop-down menus will be updated on March 2nd.
This change is due to the emergence of other pre-loaded audio devices like Yoto and Tonie. Rather than create separate item categories for all the various manufacturers, a descriptive physical format of AUDIO-REC more aptly fits the item category. The Item Category 1 field describes the item’s physical format like Book, DVD, Kit, etc.
We have updated our Item Category 1 Knowledge Base article to reflect this change. We have also updated our recommendation for the READALONG option to include Book/CD combinations, Wonderbooks, and Vox Books.
School End of Year Survey due March 27th
The End of Year School survey for K-12 school libraries and college libraries is now available. Please fill out the survey by March 27th. If you have any questions, please open a help desk ticket.
Please note that your library will not be listed in this survey if you are a public or special library.
Library Resource Sharing Survey
MSL and the Montana Legislature's Education Interim Budget Committee are studying library resource sharing options available in Montana. Please respond to this survey to help MSL staff and the committee better understand how libraries would prioritize state funding for resource sharing programs. Your input will inform future discussions about resource sharing support for libraries across the state.
The MSC is part of the resource sharing options the committee are considering and we want to hear from as many library staff as possible, from all library types, so that the results reflect a wide range of perspectives.

CMC Meeting - Wednesday, March 4 from 10-11 am
The CMC will hold an online quarterly meeting on Wednesday, March 4, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. The Zoom meeting link and meeting materials are posted on the ASPeN event page.
All MSC members are welcome to attend.
MSC Office Hours - Tuesday, March 3 at 10 am and 2 pm
Join us Tuesday, 3/3 at either 10 am or 2 pm for MSC Office Hours. We will be available the whole hour to troubleshoot specific issues, help brainstorm how to get a new project started, or answer any questions you may have! Drop in for a few minutes or stay for the whole time.

For DVDs sets for television series that have more than one disc, all items for all libraries must have a |Z followed by the number of discs in the call number. For example:
DVD DR WHO|ZDISC 1 -or- DVD DR WHO|ZDISCS 1-4.
Do not forget to manually enter this information in call numbers as you add new DVD series. Do not remove them if you find them on your call numbers. MSC admins continue to update these.
