Directors and trustees are invited to participate in the 2025 MSL Fall Director and Trustee Workshop - Library Leaders: Building a Strong Foundation.

Featured Speakers
Our keynote speaker will be nationally recognized speaker Mazi Robinson and breakout sessions will focus on applying what we learn from Mazi to the foundational operations of libraries and boards.
Marc Moss, Executive Director of Tell Us Something, will also provide a workshop entitled “The Power of Narrative – Storytelling for Library Leaders.” Participants will practice communication skills that will help make a difference for their libraries.
MSL Staff and Consultants will round out the workshop with offerings focused on Montana library laws, policies, conducting meetings, connecting with local government, and fundamentals of effective library administration.

Certification Program Changes Coming in 2026
Over the coming year, the MSL Commission will be discussing and making decisions about changes to the certification and continuing education program. Changes will likely include new Administrative Rules of Montana as well as updated requirements for certification.
Follow the discussions and progress by reviewing meeting materials for upcoming Commission meetings. There will be opportunities at these meetings and other future events to provide feedback during the process.
