We took a little vacation from newsletters, and we hope your inbox enjoyed the respite. We have been very busy in our hiatus, adding lots of new content - two new collections are spotlighted below. We also wanted to share an upcoming opportunity to connect with other history folks. |

The Shelby Book Club began on January 16, 1935, in Shelby, MT when a group of eight local ladies gathered to form a literary club. Their vision has not changed over the many years: A group of women who love to read and to share what they have read with friends who find pleasure in being together to listen. They have kept minutes since the beginning and those are now available on the portal.

The Missoula Art Museum’s full collection consists of approximately 2,500 objects, with an emphasis on regional and Indigenous contemporary art. The exhibitions shared here on the Montana History Portal represent only a fraction of MAM’s exhibition history. In celebration of its 50th anniversary in 2025, the museum has begun to digitize its exhibition history and sharing notable exhibitions from over the years. This digitization project is generously funded by a grant from the Foundation for Montana History. This digital collection both represents MAM’s efforts to promote diversity of expression and provides an opportunity for the public to engage with the history of MAM as never before.
