Join us for the fourth installment in our series on Connecting with Local Government Officials.
Better Libraries, Better Achievement, Better Futures
Tracy Cook will host Dr. Ezra Karger for conversation about how investment in libraries contributes to education outcomes in communities. Learn about continuing research that connects academic achievement to the quality and quantity of investment in library programs for kids.
Dr. Karger is an economist in the microeconomics research group at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He completed his PhD in economics at the University of Chicago in 2021.
Dr. Karger's research focuses on topics in labor and public economics, and quantifies the effect of government policies on children and households. He is currently measuring the effects of public libraries and public high schools on children using historical variation in the set of communities that had access to these local institutions.
