The Montana History Portal provides weekly updates on new content as well as tips on how to successfully navigate the site through this Highlights newsletter. You can find back issues on the "Highlights" newsletter section of our website.
Library and museum staff members are encouraged to share these with patrons by linking our content and programs on your website and sharing through social media.

We have added new collections to the History Portal in the last couple of weeks.
The Thompson Falls Woman's Club has added several documents to a new collection and has plans to add more in the near future.
The Montana Historical Society has been hard at work expanding the Brand Registration collections. The Livestock Brands continue to be one of our most popular collections and now we have two more decades of brands to share.
Don't forget our 5th annual Historical Picture Prompt Short Story Contest is open. The deadline to submit your entry is February 21, 2025.

The Thompson Falls Woman's Club joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs on October 19, 1921. This collection contains the meeting minutes and other pertinent documents the club has preserved.

The listing provides the name of the person who registered the brand, address, the date of registration, and an alpha-numerical code for the brand configuration. Note the alpha-numerical code listed and then use the Brand Index to look up the code to find a picture of the brand.

Are you working on your story? The Montana History Portal 5th Annual Historical Picture Prompt contest is open. Using any photo in the Portal collection as a story prompt participants will write a fictional short story (650 words or less) and enter through our submission form. Winners will be chosen from grades 3-6, grades 7-12, and adult. The deadline to enter is February 21, 2025.
