Montana State Library Commission to Meet
(HELENA)--- The Montana State Library (MSL) Commission will meet at the Montana State Library Gertrude Buckhous Conference Room and Zoom on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend. The Montana State Library Commission meets at least six times per year. Commissioners include Elsie Arntzen - Superintendent of Public Instruction, Vice-Chair Tom Burnett of Bozeman, Carmen Cuthbertson of Kalispell, Tammy Hall of Bozeman, Brian Rossmann - Commissioner of Higher Education Appointee, Chair Robyn Scribner of Geraldine, and Peggy Taylor of Whitefish.
The Commission will consider action on:
- Consent Agenda: Minutes, 2025 Commission meeting dates, and amendments to the FY ‘24 Montana State Library Annual Report
- Freedom to Read Statement
The Commission will discuss:
- Governor’s legislative priorities – Dylan Klapmeier, Education Policy Advisor
- 2025 Legislature and Commission’s role
- State Library support for Trustees
- Future of the Excellent Library Services Award
The Commission will receive informational updates on:
- FY 25 Work Plan Dashboard
- Website analytics and broken links report
- TRAILS contracted services use statistics
The Commission will receive an informational presentation from Rita Koganzon, Assistant Professor of Political Science, University of Houston.
Members of the public who wish to share public comments on an agenda item or any matter that is within the jurisdiction of the Commission may submit the comments by December 9 at noon here: https://forms.office.com/g/JY8agHfuua. Comments may also be submitted in person or on Zoom at the meeting.
