MSL 2025 Legislative Budget Request
The Montana State Library Commission is meeting in April at MLA and will be considering MSL's 2025 Legislative Budget requests. MSL and the MSC would like to have some librarians speak in support of the library services portion of the request during the public comment period. The meeting can be attended in person or online, and this agenda item is planned for around 10 am on the 17th. Written comments can also be submitted in advance.
If you would be willing to speak about your experience with the Montana Shared Catalog or any other service MSL provides and how it would benefit from legislative funding, please plan to attend the meeting or submit a comment. If you have any questions let us know by opening a ticket or emailing Amy directly at amarchwick@mt.gov
MSC Spring Member Meeting - Wednesday, April 17 from 1-4pm
The MSC Members Council Spring meeting will be Wednesday, April 17 from 1-4 pm. This is a hybrid meeting and is open to all. The agenda and draft budget information are now available on the ASPeN event page.
Help Desk and Ticket System is Changing Soon
As mentioned in earlier system updates, the current help desk system that the State Library uses is changing. While we do not have an official date as of yet, the current plan is to be migrated over to the new system near the end of April/beginning of May.
MSC staff will provide more information in the coming weeks and demo the new system at the Spring Members meeting. If you have any questions, please open up a help desk ticket.
Solus Note Removal
When the BCMobile App initially stopped working, MSC System Admins had SirsiDynix mark the patrons who had been actively using the app so we could notify them. Now that the app has been restored, we will be removing that note from the User Extended Info tab.
NotifyVia Field Removal
When the MSC switched to User Category 4 to indicate that patrons wanted to receive email notifications, we originally left the NotifyVia field in place while libraries transitioned. Over the next week we will be removing the old data from that field and taking the empty field out of the default display on the User Extended Info tab to prevent confusion.
