Announcements
Items due January 1st
A large majority of libraries did not have January 1st entered as a closed date, so this has caused items to checkout with a due date of 1/1/24. This has been corrected by MSC staff, but the system needs to perform its nightly refresh before it will take effect. Tomorrow, we will automatically batch change all items due on 1/1 to be due on the next day that your library is open. If you have any questions, please open a helpdesk ticket.
REMINDER: 2024 Closed Dates Survey for Publics & Specials
Public & Special Libraries - please fill out the 2024 closed dates survey whenever you know your library’s closure dates for the calendar year: https://forms.office.com/g/n5639cn2ge (if you are a school and you missed the fall survey please put in a ticket if you need closed date assistance).
New BCA Reports
Two new BLUEcloud Analytics (BCA) reports have been created to manage System Users. System users are a great way of keeping track of items that have been missing, are needed for story time, or that are on display. These checkouts will not accrue fines, become overdue, or be included in your circulation stats. If you’re interested in setting up system users for your staff to use, please open a support ticket.
The first is ‘System Users – List’ should list all current system users for your library. The report can be found by navigating through the following pathway:
BCA MTSC>Shared Reports>Users>User Lists> System Users – List
The second report is ‘System Users – Current Checkouts’ which lists all current checkouts to the system user so staff can keep track of what it is checked out. It can be found by navigating through the following pathway:
BCA MTSC>Shared Reports>Collection Maintenance>List Reports for Catalog Clean-Up> System Users - Current Checkouts
Did You Know?
The User Category 4 fields are used to denote what types of notices your patrons are receiving. If your users are opting into email notices, they'll need the user category 4 'EMAIL' selected in their account.
