Sunsetting MSC-Discuss as of January 1st, 2024
As of January 1st, 2024, MSC will no longer support the ‘MSC-DISCUSS@GOOGLEGROUPS.COM’ email. All MSC communications and updates will be sent via the GovDelivery platform. Please signup here to receive our newsletters. The newsletter subscription is open to any staff at your library or any that support your library who may need to know important system information. If you have any questions, please open a help desk ticket.
New BLUECloud Analytics (BCA) Reports
Circulate Checkbox
This new report can help with Collection Maintenance. This report, titled Find Items with Circulate Box Unchecked, lists your library’s item records that have the ‘circulate’ checkbox unchecked. If this checkbox is left blank, then the item will not be able to be circulated. MSC staff recommend not deselecting this checkbox, but instead using an item type to make items noncirculating. If you have any questions, please open a help desk ticket.
Shared Reports > Collection Maintenance > List Reports for Catalog Clean-up > ‘Find Items with Circulate Box Unchecked’
This new report provides a monthly count of SMS notifications sent to your patrons by library.

MSL Tiny Tech Training – OCLC Connexion Browser To Be Discontinued
Join MSL's Bobbi DeMontigny and MSC staff for a Tiny Tech training on Tuesday, October 31 from 10:00-10:30. In this session we will talk about the upcoming end of life for OCLC cataloging software Connexion Browser and what that may mean for your work. Although this is not a MSC specific training, this may be of interest for MSC catalogers. If you cannot attend this session, a recording will be made available shortly after.

With the dissolution of the MSC Executive Board the Bylaws revision touched every article within the Bylaws. There was interest in a future Bylaw Committee to explore specific bylaw articles based on discussion points during the meeting.
Meeting materials can be found on the ASPeN Event page.
